The Beginning
The Cotteridge Church Day Centre latterly CC Day Care was founded in 1979 by Diana Stephens & Jackie Jones at The Kings Norton Methodist Church. Originally the centre was open just one day a week. In 1985 the 3 Church's in Cotteridge (Kings Norton Methodist, United Reform & Anglican) all unified under one roof becoming The Cotteridge Church. The Church & The Day Centre left a the premises in 1988 for 12 months while an extensive renovation of the building took place.
Relationship with the Church
The relationship between the Church & The Centre is very much that of being a supportive hand. The church leaves the centre to be governed by it's own management committee. The Church provides the services of a paid fundraiser who raises around 35% of the centre's funding on a yearly basis, Helping effectively subsidise the cost of self-funded members.
Centre's Management Committee
The Day Centre's management committee is passionate & supportive in the work of the centre. It meets at least every other month and is made up of the following roles & people:
